Advanced Blackboard Grade Center is a webinar ONLY – please do not come to the CTE office.


Details

In this session, participants will learn how to use the Blackboard Grade Center to their advantage and manage grades more efficiently. Creating and managing categories, weighting grades, dropping grades, downloading grades to work offline and using Smart Views are some of the topics to be covered. We welcome users with any level of experience, but this course is designed for instructors or graders who are already comfortable with Grade Center basics.

** Registration Procedures Update **

In order for attendees to personally track their current registrations and attendance at certificate of completion workshops and events, the Center for Teaching Excellence requires that all registrants create an account in our registration system and login to register for all workshops.

 

If you have an existing training account with the Division of Human Resources, Office of Organizational and Professional Development, you do not need to create an account. You can login using your HR training username and password. By logging in to register for CTE events, your complete training record for both CTE and HR trainings will be available with a single account and login.

Chris Brown

With over 40 years of experience at UofSC, Chris Brown has been studying instructional technology and higher education for many years now. Although she has using technology to teach technology for 28+ years, she began using Blackboard in 1998 when UofSC first acquired the tool, and then became the director of Academic Services, the group that supported Blackboard, in 2001. Brown retired in 2015, but she's continuing to work part-time because working with faculty and technology is one of her favorite past-times. 



Mike Brown

Mike Brown has almost thirty years of experience in working with educational technology. From the private sector to K-12 schools, to higher education, he has developed and conducted training for end-users and instructors in a variety of operating platforms, equipment, and software systems. At the University of South Carolina he has provided assistance to faculty and students as an end-user support specialist, instructional designer, educational technology administrator, and trainer. Brown is currently with the Department of IT’s eLearning Services.
