About This Event

This one and a half-hour workshop is designed to educate parents on Special Education within the school system. This can be helpful for parents and caregivers of children with physical, mental and/or developmental disabilities. Expert speakers from our community will provide information on:

  • How to navigate the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) committee
  • How to develop a 504 plan with your child's school
  • How to develop an Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • How a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) works and how it assists your child in getting the services they need
  • Additional resources parents needs to meet their child's educational needs

Parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the workshop.

  • This workshop is intended for parents and caregivers of children with disabilities.
  • Register early, space is limited.
  • Child care will not be provided.
