This course will provide clinicians an overview of the different technical aspects involved in acquiring, reconstructing, and viewing cone-beam CT images to improve image quality, and lead to better use of Cone-beam computed tomography systems (CBCT), as an essential tool for diagnosis.

  • Describe the effect of and rationale for using different CBCT exposure and acquisition parameters

About Our Speaker


Gustavo Machado Santaella, DDS, MS, PhDis an assistant professor and director of the Division of Radiology and Imaging Sciences, Department of Diagnosis and Oral Health at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He has a Master's (2015) and a PhD (2019) in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Campinas, Brazil. He has aslo published extensively on Cone-beam computed tomography systems' (CBCT) image quality, artifacts, and improving the diagnosis.
