Digital Technology in Prosthodontic Treatment Planning and Patient Care
Today's successful practitioner must be knowledgeable in the latest technology that is available for treating patients, who want to improve their esthetics and function. This series of presentations are designed to review basic and advanced digital technology, with an emphasis on treatment planning and in office digital printing. Our speakers will educate the restorative dentist on how to discuss digital technology to their treatment team members, laboratory technicians, and most importantly, the patient.

Dr. Irizarry is currently a third-year resident in the advanced education program in the Prosthodontics Department at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. He earned a BS in Biology in 2014, from University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. He also earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry in 2018, from the School of Medicine, University of Puerto Rico.
Dr. Ahmad Alkanderi
Dr. Alkanderi is currently a third-year resident in the advanced education program in the Prosthodontics Department at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery, in 2016, from Virginia Commonwealth University. He also completed an internship in Advanced Dental Education at MOH, Kuwait, in 2017.
Dr. Saeed Yazdianpour
Dr. Yazdianpour is currently a third-year resident in the advanced education program in the Prosthodontics Department at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. He graduated from the University of New Orleans with a BS in Biology in 2013. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2018.
Dr. J. Shane Young
Dr. Young is currently a third-year resident in the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics at the UT HSC School of Dentistry at Houston, TX. He earned a BS in Biology, in 2014, from Baylor University. He also earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery, in 2018, from UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston.
Dr. Bradley Matthes
Dr. Bradley Matthes currently serves as the Chief Resident in Prosthodontics at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and his D.D.S. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Matthes plans to join his father, Dr. Thomas Matthes, a prosthodontist in private practice in St. Louis, MO upon completion of his program. In his spare time, Dr. Matthes enjoys lifting weights, hiking, photography, and spending time with his girlfriend, Annie, and golden retriever, Gunner.
Dr. Jesus Cabrera
Dr. Jesus Enrique Cabrera currently is a volunteer clinical assistant professor Prosthodontics Department at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Cabrera was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1984. After completing his Bachelors in Biology at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, he entered The College of Dental Medicine at NSU where he received his D.M.D. tittle in 2010. Dr. Cabrera received his certificate in Prosthodontics & Master of Science in Dentistry degree in June 2017. Dr. Cabrera currently maintains part time private practice and is a clinical associate professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
Dr. Giancarlo Romero
Dr. Giancarlo G. Romero currently is a volunteer clinical assistant professor Prosthodontics Department at UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston. Dr. Romero was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1970. He earned a DDS from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1993, where he also taught for two years. Dr. Romero earned a certificate in Prosthodontics from UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston and an MS in 1998. Dr. Romero also participated in a year-long fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics and Dental Oncology Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he earned a certificate in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics. He was awarded the prestigious “Cooksey Award' in 1997 and 2009. Dr. Romero currently works full-time in a private practice. He is involved in research related to implants and ceramics as well as worldwide lecturer.
