Therese M. Duane, MD, MBA, CPE, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University of Ithaca in New York and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed an internship and residency in general surgery at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia under the tutelage of L.D. Britt, MD MPH. She went on to complete a surgical critical care fellowship at the RA Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD. In 2016 she earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts followed by a Certified Physician Executive in 2017 from the American Association for Physician Leadership; a certification held by only 2000 physicians nationally at the time. Dr. Duane has a strong background in academic medicine including clinical productivity, extensive research, teaching involvement and administrative service. She has been recognized with numerous teaching awards and is an active mentor for students, residents and faculty. As a research scientist, she has received external funding from industry, has collaborated in multi-institutional trials, has presented nationally on numerous topics and has published in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. Her research interests are in clinical outcomes in acute care surgery, surgical infections and quality. She has a keen interest in advancing her career in academic and health care administration particularly by focusing on the development of medical professionals within the health system to ensure that everyone involved in patient care has an opportunity to build quality care for patients. Nationally she has held numerous positions including serving on the Executive Council for the American College of Surgeons Board of Governors as the Quality Pillar Lead; a position that allowed her to have significant influence on the policies of quality and safety put forth by the ACS.


 

Celia Levesque, RN, MSN, NP-C, CNS-BC, CDE, BC-ADM, is an Advanced Practice Provider for the Department of Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders Clinic. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist, Certified Diabetes Educator and Board-Certified Advanced Diabetes Management. She treats diabetes and its related complications. She speaks frequently to professional groups and has published articles and a textbook chapter.


 

Cathleen Shellnutt, DNP, APRN, AGCNS-BC, CGRN, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist APRN at Medical City Plano. She completed her bachelor’s degree at TWU and her master’s and doctorate degrees at TCU. She has practiced in the specialty of gastroenterology for most of her nursing career in multiple settings. She actively participates in her specialty professional organization, SGNA and served as the Associate Editor for Gastroenterology Nursing from 2017-2020. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children and relaxing in East Texas.


 

Terri DeNeui, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, is a Speaker, Author, and Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner Dr. Terri DeNeui has extensive training in her field. She earned her B.A in Nursing from Texas Women’s University and her master’s and Doctoral degrees at University of Texas in Arlington, Summa Cum Laude. In addition to her training as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, she has extended her education to include certifications in Integrative and Functional medicine as well as advanced endocrinology and sex hormone optimization. Her 23-year career expands from a decade in high risk OB and emergency care at a major trauma center in Dallas Texas, to several years in hospitalist work; the last 12 years has been spent in a primary care center she founded focused on advanced endocrinology and sex hormone optimization and overall disease prevention strategies. Dr. DeNeui, and her team of 6 Board Certified Nurse Practitioners have treated over 15,000 women and men in the area of hormone restoration and prevention of disease through a functional, integrated approach, and are positively affecting lives on a daily basis. She is a peer-reviewed, published author whose passion is speaking and teaching globally to professionals and laypersons alike on the importance of advanced endocrinology and sex hormone optimization and its impact on acute and chronic disease processes. Her passion for speaking and educating has earned her accolades across the country and invitations to write columns and speak in a variety of settings, including television, radio, medical conferences, and seminars across the country. Dr. DeNeui lives in the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex with her husband Dan and two dogs, Bodie and Bella. Their family of 7 children and 3 grandchildren also live in the area and are never too far from home.
