Accepting Applications for July 2024 Enrollment
(Twelve-Month Program | July 2024 through June 2025)
This preceptorship offers additional training in the specialty area of Pediatric Dentistry. The program will enhance the preceptor's knowledge for comprehensive evaluation and treatment of infants, adolescents and children including patients with special health care needs. This program is also open to graduates of dental schools outside of the United States and Canada.
This is a full-time preceptorship consisting of didactic, clinical and research aspects offered by the department. Due to the demands of the full-time program, outside activities that can interfere with the program are not permitted.
Program participants can expect to obtain advanced knowledge in the following areas:

Preceptor clinical case assignment(s) are contingent on the individual's didactic progress and clinical/practical skill exam(s).

As the preceptorship is a non-accredited program, UTHealth School of Dentistry at Houston cannot provide financial assistance toward tuition and fees.
Your acceptance into the program does not allow for refunds of any tuition and fees. Failure to make program payments in full will result in dismissal from the program.
Applicants are required to submit the following documentation along with the completed application:

- If you wish to pay by check or money order, please make payable to UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, PACE Center, and include with your mailed application.
Application deadline for July 2024 entry: November 1, 2023
Late applications will be accepted until November 30, 2023 with a $250 late fee.
Face-to-face and/or virtual interviews are part of the application process. Individuals should arrange to attend the scheduled interview if selected.
Our preceptorships are not required for dentists (U.S. and/or internationally-trained) to apply for UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry Advanced Education programs.
Acceptance into a UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry preceptorship does not guarantee acceptance into any of our Advanced Education programs. Interested individuals must apply through standard procedures.
Our dental preceptorships do not award academic credit. Participants will receive a letter of completion upon completing the program.

If you are a Non-U.S. Citizen/Permanent Resident applicant, we will work with our Office of International Affairs to assist with the appropriate documentation needed to for you to enter the U.S. to participate in the program.
The process can take between 8 - 12 weeks and must be completed before you enter the U.S. Please be aware that the Office of International Affairs will require you to submit documents of financial support in order to process a visa.
