**This supplemental training is intended only for those that have completed the full Advancing Youth Development 5-part course.**
**This is a certificate training. Participants must complete the full 3-part course in order to receive their certificate. If you are not seeking a certificate, you may take any of the trainings independently.**
Supervising Youth Development Practice is a certificate program designed for supervisors and managers of youth programs. SYDP is part of a national training developed by the National Training Institute for Community Youth Work (NTI), at the Academy for Educational Development (AED). It is based on the principle that every youth worker’s goal should be to develop youth and to challenge them to achieve their highest potential – not to fix them. It provides the theory, practice, and outcomes of quality youth development projects. SYDP focuses on increasing the capacity of supervisors to provide effective leadership to support their youth development staff.

If a participant does not attend a training for which they have registered, or does not to notify the Family League of their inability to attend within 48 hours of the scheduled training, the organization will be invoiced a “missed session” fee of $50.00. Organizations will only be charged in the event of a “missed session” by an employee. If an agency fails to pay the missed session fee, their staff will no longer be able to access training offered by Family League of Baltimore. The 48 hour requirement does exclude extenuating circumstances such as a death in the family, serious medical emergency, programmatic emergency that would require the attendance of the registered individual, etc.
Our goal is to continue to maximize the professional development opportunities for our funded partners, while reducing the large number of no show attendees we have experienced over the last year.
