Shade Matching Solution

Dr. Aaron Cho, prosthodontist and master ceramist, is currently course director in Preclinical Fixed Prosthodontics and is a full-time Assistant Professor at MUSoD. Dr. Cho received his DDS and an MS in dental biomaterials from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in 2000 and 2005 respectively. He completed his Graduate Program in Prosthodontics at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, Texas and was awarded a certificate and an MS in Oral Biology in 2010. He also received the Robert S. Staffanou Memorial Graduate Prosthodontic Award as a graduating resident. In 2011, Dr. Cho earned first place in the Stanley D. Tylman Research Awards from the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics. His main areas of interest are ceramic and esthetic materials.

Course Description:

Shade matching in dentistry is always difficult work, even with advanced technologies. This course will introduce the best way to approach the shade matching solution. The shade matching process will be presented by two sections: shade taking and shade making procedures. Through the lecture, Dr. Cho will present some clinical tips and practical approach for shade match solution..

• Become proficient in shade guide systems.
• Receive clinical tips and approach for shade match.
• Learn about the role and technique of dental photograph.
