Course Description:

Making images and knowing how to utilize them are a major element in expanding cosmetic and other elective services as well as better treatment planning, legal documentation and laboratory communication. Most course attendees understand the need for images but don’t have all the procedural steps or skills in place to achieve it. Step by step procedures and the hands-on nature of the course help make clear the process from procurement to presentation. This combination lecture/hands on program reviews “what you need to know,” from camera to presentation. Included are:
-Rationale for incorporating digital dental photography into comprehensive dental diagnosis and treatment planning
-How GP’s can use dental photos to augment diagnosis and appropriately document treatment planning
-Learn the standard dental photo series for the dental chart and risk management

*Participants will need to bring cheek retractors, occlusal mirrors, and buccal mirrors to this course. Feel free to bring your dental camera if you have one.

Course Objectives:

This course will present the most up-to-date information available. Upon completion of this presentation participants should be able to:

1. Learn the basic principles of digital photography and its application to clinical dentistry
2. Learn the standard dental photo series and how to make them with an extraoral digital camera.
