In celebration of National Prosthodontics Awareness Week, the postgraduate students in prosthodontics at MUSoD will showcase comprehensive and complex treatment provided in the Graduate Prosthodontics clinic. Learn about the newest materials, and evidence based approaches to providing care in prosthodontics. Topics to be covered include: diagnosis and treatment planning for complex restorative cases; laboratory preparation; restorative procedures utilizing fixed and removable prosthodontics, with and without implant support; and how to assess esthetics and deliver.
At the conclusion of this course the participant should be able to:
- Recognize that a critical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment planning for complex prosthodontic rehabilitation is essential.
- Understand that esthetic outcomes must be planned at the beginning of care, evaluated during the course of treatment, approved by the patient and transmitted to the laboratory for reproduction.
- Appreciate the different materials are available and their indication may be dependent upon esthetics, expected functional loads and existing restorations.
- Accept that stumbling blocks can occur.
