Prize-winning Kentucky author Crystal Wilkinson is set to lead a community workshop for creative writers this spring, offered through Spalding University's low-residency MFA in Writing program. The five-day, non-credit writing workshop takes place Sunday, May 28, through Thursday, June 1, during the MFA program's spring residency, on Spalding's campus in downtown Louisville. Community workshop students are invited to attend MFA residency events, including lectures and panel discussions normally reserved exclusively for MFA students.
To apply, use the registration link above and email a 5-7 page, double-spaced writing sample in fiction, creative nonfiction, or writing for children and young adults or 4 poems to email@example.com by April 14. Include your name and “Community Workshop” in the subject line.
Applicants will be notified of decisions on acceptance by April 21. Accepted students send a Worksheet (the work to be discussed during the workshop) of 12-18 double-spaced pages (or 5 poems) by April 28 to firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name and “Community Workshop” in the subject line.
Participants receive a $100 discount off the full price of $650 if their applications are received before April 9. The deadline to apply is April 14.
The workshop is limited to 9 students.
