This course will be a live, interactive webinar offered through Zoom, which enables you to participate in distance learning from anywhere in the country. This live, interactive webinar will count towards in-person instructional hours per the Dental Board of California. However, this may vary for license renewal in other states.
Clear aligner treatment is now a proven orthodontic technique that is able to treat a wide range of malocclusions. This presentation will cover the differences in biomechanics between how fixed appliances and clear aligners move teeth. Dr. Tai will offer a perspective on how to evaluate different clear aligner systems and to select a product based on components of the system and the type of tooth movements required. An overview of clear aligner treatment will be given, including aligner innovations that are available to treat deep bite, open bite, Class II, and premolar extraction cases with excellent clinical outcomes.

Sandra Tai, BDS, MS is a practicing Specialist in Orthodontics in Vancouver, Canada, and a Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthodontics at the University of British Columbia. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of the Pacific. Dr Tai has been an Invisalign certified orthodontist since 2000 who has treated over 3,000 cases with Invisalign clear aligners. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, the author of the textbook “Clear Aligner Technique” which has been translated into 11 languages, and the author of the chapter on Clear Aligner Treatment in Graber's Orthodontics 7th Edition. She is also a reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
