Trauma to the oral region occurs frequently in pediatric patients and these emergency situations present a challenge to clinicians. Traumatic dental injuries can also have significant negative functional, esthetic, and psychological effects on children. This course will be a fast paced and exciting evidence-based clinical presentation of the different techniques available to manage traumatic dental injuries in young patients.

 

You Will Learn:

  • Formulate evidence-based treatment strategies to maximize pulp vitality
  • Review aesthetic treatment options for traumatic injuries to primary and permanent teeth with appropriate clinical cases
  • Esthetic solutions for young permanent incisors: diastema, peg laterals, crown fractures

Presenters

Daniela Rodrigues P. Silva, DDS, MS has been practicing pediatric dentistry for the last 34 years. She is the Chair and Residency Program Director in the Section of Pediatric Dentistry and is clinical professor at UCLA School of Dentistry and practices in their faculty practice. Dr. Silva has taught numerous CE courses in Pediatric Dentistry nationally and internationally. Dr. Silva currently serves as the Course Director for the CMEinfo-Oakstone Foundations in Pediatric Dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and serve as Chair of the ABPD Oral Clinical Examination (OCE).
