This course will be a live, interactive webinar offered through Zoom, which enables you to participate in distance learning from anywhere in the country. This live, interactive webinar will count towards in-person instructional hours per the Dental Board of California. However, this may vary for license renewal in other states. 


Details

Are you prepared to render treatment based on contemporary guidelines for traumatic dental injuries? How can you improve the lifelong prognosis of traumatized teeth? This course will provide a case-based framework to triage and successfully manage the care necessary to optimize outcomes for young children and adolescents. The course will also provide the biologic basis and clinical technique for management of specific dental injuries, such as crown fractures, luxation injuries and avulsion injuries. It will also provide guidance on projecting prognosis and outcomes of traumatic dental injuries in pediatric patients.

 

Through cases with clinical images and radiographs, the intricacies of diagnosis, classification and treatment/management will be highlighted. Subtle but critical differences in management based on the stage of root development will be discussed. The course will be a live, interactive webinar, inviting audience participation via questions and answers after each topic covered. The guidelines set forth by the International Association of Dental Traumatology in 2020 will be utilized.

Presenters

Priyanshi Ritwik, BDS, MS, is a professor of pediatric dentistry at UT Houston School of Dentistry in Texas. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Ritwik regularly lectures and provides CE courses on pediatric oral health topics for various national and international groups. She balances her academic career in pediatric dentistry by teaching doctoral and postdoctoral students, maintaining clinical practice, conducting research and promoting interprofessional collaborative practice for advancing pediatric oral health.
