Course Description

Participants in the TRIA Physical Therapy Conference will have the opportunity to hear expert physician and therapist speakers and discuss common injuries and treatment for young athletes. Didactic education, hands-on, and interactive learning opportunities will add valuable tools for your physical therapy practice.


Target Audience

This conference is intended for physical therapists with intermediate to advanced experience.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the impact that sports specialization has on young athletes from a musculoskeletal and psychological perspective.
  2. Explain the prevalence of sports related injuries in the youth athletic population.
  3. Detail common overuse injuries of the lumbar spine, upper extremity, and lower extremity in young athletes.
  4. Identify proper exercise progression to prepare a treatment program for young athletes, beginning with early stage exercises and progressing to advanced and sports specific movements.

Registration is $450 ($525 after 9/25/19)

Your registration fee includes the course syllabus, all lab fees, refreshment breaks, breakfast and lunch on Friday, and breakfast on Saturday. The social reception on Friday evening is also included with pre-registration.


Continuing Education

Accreditation

This course has been approved for 11.5 category 1 hours/CEUs with the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy. Attendees should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program. This course has also been approved for 11.5 category 1 CEUs with the Minnesota Board of Physical Therapy as well as TRIA Orthopaedic Center. Cancellation Policy:
 

Full refunds will be issued for all cancellations received 14 days prior to the scheduled event. Half of the registration fee will be refunded for all cancellations received 7 to 13 days prior to the scheduled event. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within 6 days of the course. Please allow up to six weeks for delivery of credit card refunds and 90 days for delivery of check refunds. Our preferred method of delivering refunds is by credit card. Should cancellation by TRIA be necessary, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and refunds issued.
