Description

Occupational Medicine Journal Club is an educational and networking opportunity to discuss and debate the results of recently published research. Each meeting we will enjoy a networking dinner and discuss a recent article from a peer reviewed journal. Wine donations greatly appreciated.

The ultimate goal of this series is to promote the optimal health and safety of Texas workers, workplaces, and the environment by:

  • Educating healthcare professionals and the public;
  • Stimulating research;
  • Enhancing quality of practice;
  • Guiding public policy; and
  • Advancing the field of occupational and environmental medicine.

Articles are selected on the basis of their usefulness to practitioners in terms of clinical practice and the care of worker populations at the programmatic level.

Learning Objectives: At the end of each session, you should be able to:

  • Interpret and explain a current occupational or environmental medicine research report;

  • Apply an interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment, and prevention strategies; and

  • Outline standards of care relevant to occupational and environmental health practice.
