Professionals in the field of Industrial Hygiene, Social Work, Safety and other public health professions may receive a certificate of attendance with contact hours by request during sign-in. All certificates will be emailed within 2 weeks post-seminar.
All persons requesting certificates must register online, sign-in for attendance verification and complete the evaluation.
The Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (EOHS) Research Seminar Series presents information on current research topics and emerging issues in EOHS.
Seminars are presented by UTHealth School of Public Health faculty, doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows or external esteemed guest lecturers. Seminars are scheduled on a biweekly basis, on alternate Fridays at noon.
Target Audience: Physicians, Nurses, Safety Professionals, Industrial Hygienists, Epidemiologists, Graduate Students and other public health professionals.
The objective of the series is to identify and discuss new methods, advances and current topics in environmental and occupational health science research and apply current knowledge and key assumptions in environmental health sciences and other areas to advance the development of the field.

Visitors may utilize the designated 2-hour parking near the entrance of the building, when available (see map). If the 2-hour parking is not available or your visit will last more than 2 hours, visitors may park in any non-designated slot, located outside of the concrete barriers that surround the building and 2-hour visitor parking area. Entrances to the more extensive parking area can be found on either side of the building.

The Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) supports research, education and outreach in occupational and environmental health. The SWCOEH is housed within the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences of the UTHealth School of Public Health and is under the leadership of Elaine Symanski, PhD who serves as Director.
The SWCOEH was established in 1977 as a NIOSH-funded Education and Research Center (ERC), now one of 18 ERCs in the nation. In 1985, the SWCOEH became a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health.
