A light lunch will be served at the beginning of the seminar and is first come first serve.
The Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (EOHS) Research Seminar Series presents information on current research topics and emerging issues in EOHS.
Seminars are presented by UTHealth School of Public Health faculty, doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows or external esteemed guest lecturers. Seminars are scheduled on a biweekly basis, on alternate Fridays at noon.
Target Audience: Physicians, Nurses, Safety Professionals, Industrial Hygienists, Epidemiologists, Graduate Students and other public health professionals.
The objective of the series is to identify and discuss new methods, advances and current topics in environmental and occupational health science research and apply current knowledge and key assumptions in environmental health sciences and other areas to advance the development of the field.

All campus visitors are required to sign-in at security and present a current form of government issued identification. Please arrive 15 minutes early to park, check-in, receive a visitor badge and proceed to the elevator lobby. Seminars are held on the 5th floor, east wing, room 505.
Visitor parking is available in front of the UTHealth School of Public Health in a very limited capacity for a fee up to $20.00 per day. Parking can also be found at TMC Garage 2 across Holcombe off Bertner.

Determination of credit is pending for Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) units.
Social Workers and other Public Health Professionals may attend and request a Certificate of Attendance.
Registration is required for each seminar to receive CEU credit. CEUs are emailed after attendance is confirmed so we ask to please allow up to 2 weeks for credit due to credit being counted on both an individual or multi-seminar attendance basis. You may attend seminars on a one-by-one basis.

The Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) supports research, education and outreach in occupational and environmental health. The SWCOEH is housed within the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics and Environmental Sciences of the UTHealth School of Public Health and is under the leadership of Elaine Symanski, PhD who serves as Director.
The SWCOEH was established in 1977 as a NIOSH-funded Education and Research Center (ERC), now one of 18 ERCs in the nation. In 1985, the SWCOEH became a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Occupational Health.
