This virtual workshop is Day 3 of the Traditional SCERTS course. This course is most relevant for those who have already participated in SCERTS Day 1 and 2.
The focus of this session will be on providing specific guidelines in administering the SCERTS Assessment Process (SAP).

Presenter:  Emily Rubin, MS, CCC-SLP

 

 

 Emily Rubin, MS, CCC-SLP is the Director of Communication Crossroads, Inc. in Atlanta, GA. She is a speech-language pathologist specializing in the relationship between social emotional engagement and learning. As a former adjunct faculty member and lecturer at Yale University, she has served as a member of their Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic. She recently participated as a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Ad Hoc Committee on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), a committee charged with developing guidelines related to the role of speech-language pathologists in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of ASD. She is a co-developer of the Social Emotional Engagement - Knowledge and Skills (SEE-KS) professional learning approach. Emily is also the co-author of SCERTS, a criterion referenced assessment tool and framework for social and emotional programs developing programs for social and emotional learning and engagement in the classroom setting

 

The SAP is a curriculum-based assessment designed to pinpoint next steps in the domains of social communication and emotional regulation, the core challenges in children and adolescents with social emotional learning differences. the SAP is designed to 

  • Establish a profile of developmental strengths and needs
  • To write meaningful, purposeful, and motivating educational goals based on a learner's profile, functional needs, and preferences
  • To select the most appropriate interpersonal and learning supports
  • To monitor progress over time.

 

To receive STRAND credit (10.5 hours) you must take this along with Introduction to SCERTS.,  or SCERTS day 2 (if you previously took the Introduction)
