Infection Prevention is required to ensure the safety and health of both the Dental Clinician and the patient. This requires a series of repeatable, sequential protocols that break the chain of infection and prevent the transmission of infectious diseases. We will discuss the use of Standard Precautions and Best Practices to become CDC/ OSHA compliant.

Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

· Know and recognize current CDC guidelines, understand post COVID-19 Additions to safe work practices.

· Implement Infection Prevention Protocols that help prevent the spread of Bloodborne Pathogens and other microorganisms.

· Perform sequential and repetitive practices that help prevent infectious disease transmission and achieve CDC compliancy.

Mary Morrow Davis, R.D.H., B.S., C.D.T.

She received both her Hygiene License (ADHP), and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, her Certification as a Dental Laboratory Technician, from UAB/ Veterans Administration Medical Center. She brings 27 years of clinical experience to the Hygiene/ Infection Prevention Division of Dentsply Sirona, with special focus on CDC, OSHA,& State Board guideline compliancy.

Since 2018, she has been employed by Dentsply Sirona as a Territory Manager in the Hygiene/ Infection Prevention Division.
