'There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.' -Pablo Picasso
In this week-long class, we will work from the built-environment and the landscape around us, synthesizing what we observe into form and pictorial space. We will practice observational drawing, but will also encourage experimentation with drawing's inherently poetic/abstract nature. Time will be allotted for critique, both with the instructor but also with peers. This course will be taught via Google Classroom.
No experience necessary. All levels are welcome.
Jon received his BFA (Painting/Drawing) from Montserrat College of Art in 2012. He is a painter living and working in Salem, MA. His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout New England. Jon's work can be viewed at jonbolles.com.
This class meets online.
