This intensive course offers challenging exercises and helpful hints to achieve accurate drawings from observation. Students quickly gain skills in achieving strong tonal values with light and shadow, correct proportion, ellipses and perspective, and dynamic composition. The Instructor's demonstrations will reveal strategies for developing drawings step-by-step from start to finish. We work from still life and interiors (no figures), and work mainly in charcoal with some ink and acrylic as well. The class provides a highly supportive environment and personal attention. This course is especially useful for artists who have some experience with art, but who don't feel completely confident about their drawing skills. By the end of the week, you should be able to draw just about anything with confidence.
*this course may be taken for 1.5 credits; additional fees, pre-requisites, and requirements apply. Please contact the Continuing Education Office first to confirm eligibility before registering for credit. Montserrat Students should register via campus cafe.
