This class focuses on direct observational painting from a live model. The course emphasizes “seeing”, simplifying, and the importance of beginning a painting well. We will discuss color as it relates to skin tones and better understand how to achieve a “likeness” of the sitter. Open to the beginner as well as the advanced painter.
Brett holds an MFA from the University of New Hampshire, and a BFA from Mass Art. Brett has exhibited widely, and completed fully funded residencies at centers including the Rocky Neck Artist's Colony, Vermont Studio Center, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts amongst others. Brett lives and works in Ipswich, MA.
