A learning module that provides an in-depth look at school age environments, the importance of interaction, materials, and indicators in the SACERS-Updated assessment. Stop asking, “am I ready?” and instead feel prepared and equipped with knowledge, tools, and strategies to produce a successful SACERS-U score and create an environment that is both appealing and appropriate for the children and the staff. Scared of the dreaded interview? Fear no more!!! Practice here. Participants will engage in strategies and activities that relate their environment to the NC State Education Standards as well as meet the SACERS-U requirements.

Crystal Williams is the Statewide School Age Program Consultant located in the Western Region of North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University.  Crystal joins the School Age Initiative with over 5 years of Child Care Resource and Referral experience.  She has almost 10 years combined Kindergarten and First Grade classroom teaching experience.  Her experience consists of providing high quality technical assistance and professional development and she is looking forward to continuing that work with School age professionals.  Crystal was born and raised in western North Carolina and she enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband and two children.
