Participants must have a video camera on their device and be willing to turn it on during the training to ensure active participation throughout the event.
Providers will be able to identify safe sleeping habits for infants and toddlers. Policies and sleep care waivers will be introduced, tummy time importance and also breastfeeding awareness will be discussed. Providers can expect to learn and understand safe sleep environments that promote children's growth, healthy learning and development.
Each participant will receive 2.0 CHC for attending and completing all required coursework.
Hope Buckner is the Regional Birth - Three Specialist for Southwestern Child Development and covers the thirteen most western counties. She has worked in early childhood education since 2010. Most of those years have been spent in the classroom as an Infant/toddler teacher. She graduated from Western Carolina University in 2016 with a Bachelor's Degree in Birth-Kindergarten.
She is currently holds her Level 11 NC Early Education Certification with Professional Development and Technical Assistant Endorsement from the NC Institute for Child Development Professional to offer support to all early childhood teachers. In her free time she enjoys puzzles, music and baseball.
