Participants must be employed at a child care facility such as a child care center, school age facility, or family child care home.
Participants must have a video camera on their device and be willing to turn it on during the training to ensure active participation throughout the event.
Providers will be able to identify safe sleeping habits for infants and toddlers. Policies and sleep care waivers will be introduced, tummy time importance and also breastfeeding awareness will be discussed. Providers can expect to learn and understand safe sleep environments that promote children's growth, healthy learning and development.
Each participant will receive 2.0 CHC for attending and completing all required coursework.
Hannah Coffey joins Southwestern Child Care Resource and Referral as a Technical Assistance and Training Consultant. Hannah has over 10 years’ experience working in a variety of preschool classrooms. She holds a Level 11 on the NC Early Educator Certificate with technical assistance and professional development endorsements. Hannah received a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Care and Education from the University of NC at Greensboro.
She enjoys exploring the western mountains and meeting new people.
Mary Fowler joins Southwestern Child Development Child Care Resource and Referral as a Technical Assistance and Training Consultant. Mary has over 30 years of experience working in a childcare facility as a teacher and a child care administrator. Mary brings to CCR&R, 12 years of management experience as a Center Director and has spent the last five years redeveloping her skills as a preschool teacher in the classroom. Mary also serves as a Facilitator in the CCR&R Children’s Trust Program. She teaches both Incredible Years and Circle of Parents classes in Macon, Jackson and Haywood Counties. She holds a Level 11 on the NC Early Educator Certificate and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Birth-Kindergarten with a minor in Early Childhood Education from Western Carolina University. Mary is also is Program Coordinator over Children’s Trust Fund.
Mary enjoys spending time with her husband Sherman and three grandchildren.
