Course Description


Do you have difficulty managing challenging behaviors in your classroom? Are you frustrated with the impact of challenging behavior on the student, yourself, and the entire classroom? Do you wish there was something you could do? This training is for YOU!



The goal of this learning event is to assist after school providers with addressing challenging behaviors in the classroom. Participants will be introduced to enriching strategies to increase student engagement and create a supportive social emotional learning environment. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to engage in several social emotional activities that they can easily implement in their classrooms.



Course requirements to earn the CEU certificate include attending the two hour in person session and actively participating in group activities and role plays


Registration is $15.00


Colin was born and raised in Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from Radford University. Colin has worked in the North Carolina public school system since he settled in the state in 2015 and has supervised the largest after school program in his school district for the past few years. An advocate for embracing the community,he is constantly looking for different festivals, community service events, and local businesses.


In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, watching sports, and doing voice overs for businesses and commercials. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree from Clemson University. Colin’s passions include motivating others, listening to or creating music, and protecting the environment. He looks forward to continuing to serve our state!


Crystal Williams is the Statewide School Age Program Consultant located in the Western Region of North Carolina. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Western Carolina University.  Crystal joins the School Age Initiative with over 5 years of Child Care Resource and Referral experience.  She has almost 10 years combined Kindergarten and First Grade classroom teaching experience.  Her experience consists of providing high quality technical assistance and professional development and she is looking forward to continuing that work with School age professionals.  Crystal was born and raised in western North Carolina and she enjoys hiking and spending time with her husband and two children.
