Long COVID Support Group

11/4/2021

5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

Seats remaining: 92

Details

Most people recover from COVID-19 within 2 weeks but a smaller cohort of survivors experience prolonged health-related issues. These “Long-COVID” or Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC) patients experience a range of symptoms: fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath, joint pain, depression, hair loss, chest pain and other reported symptoms.

These symptoms can range from mild to incapacitating and can be incredibly disruptive to a person's life. This group is designed to support those patients who do not fully recover.

At the meetings, Munson Healthcare staff and other experts will share the latest information and provide practical information for addressing the most common symptoms.

This month's presentation is:

Healthy Eating for a Strong Immune System presented by Laura McCain, RD, CDE

Laura McCain, RD, CDE received her BS in Medical Dietetics from the University of Illinois in 1980. She has worked in various hospitals from Ann Arbor, to St. Louis, to Shreveport Louisiana. She obtained her associate degree in Culinary Arts from Northwestern Michigan College's Great Lakes Culinary institute in 2003. Obtaining her chef degree has significantly helped her ability to communicate how to make healthy food taste great. Laura has worked at Munson Medical Center for 25 years.
