This workshop is for Grade levels 3-5
Participants will be discussing what Rigor should look like in their math classrooms. They will investigate the three components of Rigor (Fluency-Conceptual Understanding Real life connection) more deeply with sample activities and critique effective strategies of a math classroom. Participants will make judgements from their PARCC results and examine rigorous problems to implement immediately. Participants need to bring a computer, their teaching manuals, and their current PARCC results to explore strategies for improving their student's math rigor. This will be a working workshop so be prepared to work on improving your students math rigor by organizing standard based rigorous problems to engage your students the next day back in your classroom and beyond!
