Supporting Kindergarten Teachers: What is Developmentally Appropriate? How do I Evaluate their Teaching? (for Administrators ONLY!)

Must Attend Both Days!

Wednesday, October 3, 2018 and Tuesday October 16, 2018

8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Registration open through 10/3/2018 10:59 PM EST

This workshop is for: Elementary Principals, and Assistant Principals
In this two session/ 2 day (Oct 3 and Oct 16, 2018)
3 hours each of professional development, administrators will:
Develop a clear understanding of what a Kindergarten classroom should look like, feel like, and sound like (developmentally appropriate).
Gain knowledge on appropriate ways to evaluate Kindergarten teachers (using the Danielson).
Brainstorm ways to support Kindergarten teachers in elementary buildings.
In the first sessions, administrators will be trained on the first two objectives. They will then be given a task to complete over the course of two weeks. The administrators will observe, interact with, and discuss what was learned in the professional development with the Kindergarten teachers located in their buildings.
In the second session, administrators will report back, brainstorm and receive more training in the areas of confusion or need (as self-reflected) in order to support the Kindergarten teachers in their building to the best of their ability.
