The I-KAN Regional Office of Education would like to extend an invitation to all teachers in the I-KAN region to participate in taking the Gifted Education Seminar. Lisa Harrod and Jaime Finkelstein will be the trainers.
This program invites classroom teachers to deepen their understanding of how to teach and reach ALL students, not just those in the gifted class. The goal of the training, 'Teachers will be able to create an environment to identify the various learning styles of their students, address their diverse needs and measure student growth in the classroom,' will be accomplished through the exploration of topics including curriculum models and differentiation strategies. This course will have a combination of face-to-face sessions along with independent on-line sessions to satisfy the 45-hour requirement of the course. Details will be available at the first class session. PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING HEADPHONES AND A LAPTOP TO THE WORKSHOP.
This is the initial meeting to set the guidelines for the seminar and face to face meeting dates.
Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants will receive 45 Professional Development Hours which will count toward their licensure renewal with ISBE.
