Conference Details

Don't miss the 3rd Annual Heart Centered Teaching Institute! Connect with other early childhood professionals in your community for a day of discussion, learning, and reflection. Keynote speaker Sandra Duncan will lead us through a discussion on the power of the environment. As she states in her book, Rethinking the Classroom Landscape, 'Space speaks. Even though we cannot hear the classroom's walls or floors talking, the equipment is conversing, or the learning materials are chattering, they are, indeed, speaking to us. They are telling us how to behave, act, react, engage, and even think. The space is whispering 'run' or 'pause and linger for a while.'' At the Heart Centered Teaching Institute, we will explore how the environment is influencing our behaviors and the messages it sends to our children. How can we redesign and strengthen our classroom environment to reflect our community? Join us to examine your classroom landscape and discover how you can create meaningful places from ordinary spaces for children.
