The Head and Neck Examination: Is Your Technique Meeting the Standard of Care?

Dental professionals are at the frontline for recognizing early illness and for educating patients about their risk factors. A patient’s life may depend on the clinician’s thorough examination, documentation, and follow-up. This course will provide an overview of the head and neck examination process. At the end of the program the participant will be able to:

  1. Perform a thorough extraoral and intraoral examination.
  2. Observe areas that deviate from normal.
  3. Detect conditions which may require consultation.
  4. Provide early disease recognition.
  5. Identify contraindications to treatment.
  1. Discuss the head and neck examination as a legally accountable standard of care action.
