Ricardo Vidal, DDS, MS
Dr. Vidal is an Assistant Professor of Periodontics at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He completed his MS degree and obtained his periodontics certificate at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Vidal maintains a private practice limited to periodontics and implant surgery. His research interests include esthetic periodontal and implant surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association and the Louisville Dental Society.
Tamer Abdel-Azim, DDS
Dr. Abdel-Azim is an Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. He obtained his prosthodontics certificate at the University of Rochester. Dr. Abdel-Azim maintains a private practice limited to implant and esthetic dentistry. His research interests include implant and digital dentistry. He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontists, International Team for Implantology, American Dental Association, Kentucky Dental Association and the Louisville Dental Society.
Rebecca H. Mercke, DMD
Dr. Mercke is an assistant professor in the Department of Oral Health and Rehabilitation at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She is course director for the DMD Program’s Anxiety and Pain Control course and the Dental Hygiene Program’s Physical Diagnosis and Medical Management, Biology of the Head and Neck, Local Anesthesia, and Periodontics courses; additionally, she supervises the Dental Hygiene and DMD Recall Clinics. Other teaching experience has included Immunology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Human Biology, Medical Terminology, and Academic Success Seminars. Dr. Mercke is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Dental Hygiene Program and the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Her career in dentistry has exceeded 32 years and includes experience in private practice in Bluefield, Virginia and Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Mercke is a member of the Kentucky Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
