In this training you will:

• Discuss oral language and vocabulary development
• Describe the structural components of oral language
• Describe the stages of oral language development
• Describe strategies for developing oral language and vocabulary in young children
• Discuss questioning routines
• Discuss Three-Read lesson planning


Jana Frost is a lifelong educator, with 29 years in the elementary classroom. She has been an assistant principal and for 8 years was the Head Teacher for Logan Elementary School. For 4 years, Jana was the Regional Reading Specialist supporting reading instruction in 10 rural school districts in Eastern New Mexico. 

Jana is currently an independent literacy consultant, and conducts professional development around the state for Early Childhood LETRS, LETRS Foundations and CORE (Consortium on Reaching Excellence); training specific to brain research and effective research-based instructional strategies.
