This training takes place on November 18th from 12:30-4:00

In this training you will:

• Describe the component skills of phonological awareness
• Describe the linguistic hierarchy of phonological skill development
• Create phonological skill development in rhyming, alliteration, blending, segmenting
• Identify the expected ages at which these skills should be emerging
• Describe strategies that facilitate development of phonological awareness skills

Facilitator

Jana Frost is a lifelong educator, with 29 years in the elementary classroom. She has been an assistant principal and for 8 years was the Head Teacher for Logan Elementary School. For 4 years, Jana was the Regional Reading Specialist supporting reading instruction in 10 rural school districts in Eastern New Mexico. 

Jana is currently an independent literacy consultant, and conducts professional development around the state for Early Childhood LETRS, LETRS Foundations and CORE (Consortium on Reaching Excellence); training specific to brain research and effective research-based instructional strategies.
