This training meets on Friday, January 28th from 8:30-12:00. It is a Supplemental FOCUS Professional Learning for preschool teachers and educational assistants.

Early Literacy Strategies in Action: Becoming a Writer

This training will focus on the developmental progression of young children's writing. The stages of writing will be discussed and instructional strategies that help young children develop writing skills will be shared.

Facilitator

Ginger Towle is the Instructional Coaching Coordinator for the Early Childhood Instructional Coaching team. She has over 30 years of experience in education, holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Lesley University, and is endorsed in TESOL. Ginger has worked as a preschool teacher, special education teacher, an elementary teacher, and for over 4 years as and Early Childhood Instructional Coach.


Heleme is an Early Childhood Instructional Coach with the Central Region Education Cooperative (CREC).  She earned her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Multicultural Education in 1999, from the University of New Mexico and her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2005, from New Mexico State University.  Heleme has over 20 years in Early Childhood education and brings to coaching her expertise in collaborative partnerships impacting teachers throughout the field.  She is currently an ECIC for the districts of Alamogordo, Animas, Lordsburg and Tularosa.
