Charles A. Dorminy


Charles A. “Charlie” Dorminy is a Partner in the firm's Brunswick office, and his practice encompasses a wide variety medical malpractice defense, employment law, local government law and litigation, corporate law, health-care compliance and general insurance defense litigation. Charlie currently serves as appointed counsel for a local government utilities provider, and acts as general counsel for a large boat manufacturer. He also serves as compliance counsel and outside litigation counsel for health-care facilities around the state, and as employment counsel for many local governments in South Georgia. He was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2012 and 2013 and was listed in The Best Lawyers in America 2018.


Charlie earned a Juris Doctor from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law, interning for both the Tift Superior Court and for the U.S. Federal Court for the Middle District of Georgia. After law school, he also obtained an LL.M. in Healthcare Law from the University of Houston. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Georgia, where he majored in Agricultural Business.


He and his wife Caroline have three children: Maggie, Jack and Henry. They are members of Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica, where Charlie is serving his second term as Chairman of the Staff Parish Relations Committee and is the current Vice Chair of the Administrative Council. He also serves as an Usher Captain and has organized a men's Bible study.


In addition, Charlie serves on the Georgia Society of Healthcare Risk Managers (GSHRM) Board of Directors, Frederica Academy Board of Trustees, the Epworth By The Sea Board of Trustees, the Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association (GIAHA) Board of Trustees and the First Tee of Southeast Georgia Board of Trustees.


He is a Friend of the Foundation of Southeast Georgia Health System and is a Founder of the Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation. He has also served as President and Vice President of the Tift Circuit Bar Association, Vice Chairman of the Tift Area Arts Council and Chairman of the Love Affair Arts Festival.

In his spare time he enjoys hunting, sailing, and water/snow skiing. He also enjoys coaching his kids' soccer, baseball, and basketball teams.












Jennifer McCollum, RHIA, CCS


Jennifer graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Medical College of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management (HIM). As a health information professional, she has 20+ years of experience in healthcare, encompassing a diverse background in health information management operations, medical coding, auditing/education, clinical documentation improvement, electronic health record (EHR) development and implementation, healthcare consulting, and client development. She is currently employed with Shepherd Center, in Atlanta GA, as the HIM Director. She is a member of the Georgia Health Information Management Association (GHIMA) and has served in various roles to include, but not limited to the following: Nominating Committee Member, Coding Roundtable Chairperson, GHIMA President/Past President, GHIMA Delegate, and currently serves as a Mentoring Committee Co-Chair on the 2019-2020 GHIMA board. She is a recipient of the 2007 GHIMA Distinguished Member Award, 2012 Distinguished Service Award, and 2014 Mentor Award. She is a member of the Devry University and Atlanta Technical College HIT Advisory Boards. When she's not busy in the workplace or attending professional events, she enjoys attending Atlanta Falcons games, spending time with her large extended family and close circle of friends, and traveling.












Doug Swords, CHBME


Douglas Swords is a Co-founder of Azalea Health Innovations and helms the company's back-office Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) service division, driving bottom line growth for Azalea clients. Swords brings over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, specializing in management and scaling of RCM operations for medical providers and facilities of all sizes. He holds a Finance degree from Valdosta State University.
