Determining the root operation—or intent of a procedure—is essential to accurate coding, and illustrates the precision of the code values defined in the ICD-10-PCS system.

Lisa Daughtry, RHIA, CS, CDIP


Lisa Daughtry, RHIA, CCS, CDIP is the former Coding Educator at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina and currently works for Accuity Delivery Systems in Manhattan, NY. She recently served as NCHIMA Triangle Region Chapter Treasurer instrumental in establishing the board to 501(c)(6) non-profit status. Lisa also sat on the AHA EAB Coding Clinic board in Chicago for the 2017 and 2018 terms and now serves on the AHIMA Clinical Coding Program committee for a three year term.


Passionate with Inpatient Coding, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and ICD-10-CM/PCS, her interests include continued growth in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) auditing & qualitative concurrent/retro queries, IP/OP coding, DRG auditing, Coding Education, and Appeals & Auditing trends.


Raised in eastern North Carolina, Lisa now lives in Raleigh with her husband, Alan. She is a graduate of the College of Charleston in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in French and Edgecombe Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology.


Lisa states, “It was an honor to serve as Treasurer on my regional state association of NCHIMA, serve on the Editorial Advisory Board of Coding Clinic with the American Hospital Association, and now serve on AHIMA's Clinical Coding Program. I am humbled to serve us in the Coding and CDI communities and to especially be able to give back to others what has so freely been given to me.”

You will receive two emails once you join – 1) a confirmation email and 2) a registration statement email which serves as your receipt (if you paid by credit card) or invoice (if you plan to pay by check).


If you are paying by check, make your check payable to KnowledgeConnex, include your invoice # that is on your registration statement email, and mail your check to KnowledgeConnex. The mailing address will be on the registration statement email.


Anyone who pays registration fees and cannot attend the event may send a substitute. Refunds will not be granted after online registration closes.
