Evelyn Santos is a Coding and Audit Specialist for Eclat Health Solutions for over 7 years. Prior to this, she was a Coding Trainer and Compliance Specialist for Duke University Health Systems for 17 years. She is a member of AHIMA and holds credentials as Certified Coding Specialist and ICD-10 CM/PCS Trainer as well as a BA from Oklahoma Baptist University.
Marie Thomas has been in active roles in the Revenue Cycle for over thirty years and currently is the Vice President , Revenue Cycle Operations for Eclat Health; employed at Eclat for 12 years. She was employed in management at Duke University Health Systems for 12 years. Marie is a member of AHIMA, AAPC and ACDIS with credentials RHIT, CCS, COC, CCDS along with a Masters in Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University in Charlotte NC.
Kara Carlisle has 25 years of experience in medical coding in ICD 9/10 CM and PCS and CPT coding. She has a Bachelor of Science from Stephens College and currently holds the RHIA credential.
Nancy Davis, MS, RHIA, CHPS is the Director of Compliance and Safety for the Door County Medical Center located in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
Quinn Daniel, RHIA is the HIM Director / Privacy Officer for the Dodge County Hospital located in Eastman, GA.
Karen Searcy, RHIA is a native Georgian. She attended Paine College in Augusta, GA transferred to the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC where she received her BS in Health Information Management and joined the United States Coast Guard Reserves.
When she lived in Savannah, GA her work experience included: hospital inpatient and outpatient coding, quality assurance, and utilization review at Memorial Medical Center. She was a systems manager, Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) coordinator and Claims manager at Crawford & Company.
Karen is employed with Georgia Cancer Specialists. She is the Manager of Medical Records Manager, Transcription and Hospital Coordinator, and HIPAA liaison. She is responsible for daily operations of release of information and other medical record department functions, transcription, compliance, and audits, several committees, set-up and train users for HIE and ePrescribe, and other job responsibilities. She was named Manager of the Year.
Karen was GHIMA President 2018-2019, serving as the Past President and Treasurer, and nominating committee chairperson 2019-2020. She has received the President Award and Distinguished Member Award.
Karen was recently elected to participate as a member of the newly formed AHIMA Governance Task Force. Part of the proposed charter is:
To ensure AHIMA is positioned with an optimal, nimble, and agile governance structure, the Governance Task Force is charged with reviewing and transforming the governance of AHIMA.
Karen retired from the United States Coast Guard Reserves with over twenty-eight years of service with the rank as Chief. She is married over twenty-four years, with two children in college at Fort Valley State University.

During the week following the meeting, all paid attendees will receive an email with a link to the online evaluation and a CE certificate.
