Short Term Rental Certificate Course

 

 

Renting a room or an entire vacation home to guests for short stays can be profitable or it can create loss and liability. Understanding and applying lodging industry “best practices” can benefit you, your business, and your guest stays. This course will review proven STR management practices, including an overview of the industry, regulations and accounting, marketing and reservations, guest and neighbor relations, maintenance and housekeeping, design and decor, security and safety, opportunities, challenges, and more! There is a $75.00 curriculum fee.

 

This course may also be taken “ala carte” for $55/part, plus $75 curriculum fee:

Instructor: Julie Davies

Julie Davies has received the Permanent Faculty Member designation with the American Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Institute. She has taught over 30 courses, a dozen seminar topics, and has taught courses in Hospitality Management, Short Term Rentals, and Commercial Recreation degree programs at 18 universities. She has also worked in the industry as a hotel general manager. Julie has written and edited articles, books, policy manuals, marketing materials, curriculum, and newsletters for over 30 years. She was recently commissioned to write and teach a certification course on Short Term Rental Management at CSN and other colleges (after years of managing hotels, STRs, B&Bs, and senior care communities along with teaching about all areas of hospitality, tourism, senior care, and lodging management). She consults with and reviews travel and lodging businesses. Julie's joy is her daughters and grandchildren---she loves to read and travel with them, too.



Policies
Minimum Enrollment: In order to better serve our customers, a minimum enrollment must be met. You will be notified 2 business days before the first class meeting if the class will be canceled due to low enrollment. Refunds for canceled classes will be issued promptly and no refund fee will be charged.

Refund Policy: Please notify us two (2) business days prior to the class start date for a refund. Refunds requested less than 2 days prior may be assessed a refund fee of $10. After class begins, you may request a refund in the form of a credit to your account. All account credits expire at fiscal year-end on June 30.
