Guest Service Gold® is a comprehensive program designed to accomplish the goal of creating guest service-oriented employees who know how to engage with their guests in order to provide memorable guest service.  

 

Guest service is the heart and soul of hospitality, and every hospitality employee, no matter what their job, needs to have a foundation in guest service. Guest Service Gold® is a comprehensive program designed to accomplish the goal of creating guest service-oriented line-level employees who know how to engage with guest to provide memorable service.

 

Guest Service Gold® features seven guest service elements presented through real stories designed to motivate and inspire:

  • Champion: Be a Guest Hero!

Students who complete the Guest Service Gold® training program are eligible to become certified by taking a 30-question certification exam and scoring 70% or above. Successful candidates will earn the Certified Guest Service Professional® CGSP® designation, to include a certificate and lapel pin to wear in recognition of their guest service knowledge and skills.

Instructor: Julie Davies; Breanne Ellis

Julie Davies has received the Permanent Faculty Member designation with the American Hotel & Lodging Association Educational Institute. She has taught over 30 courses, a dozen seminar topics, and has taught courses in Hospitality Management, Short Term Rentals, and Commercial Recreation degree programs at 18 universities. She has also worked in the industry as a hotel general manager. Julie has written and edited articles, books, policy manuals, marketing materials, curriculum, and newsletters for over 30 years. She was recently commissioned to write and teach a certification course on Short Term Rental Management at CSN and other colleges (after years of managing hotels, STRs, B&Bs, and senior care communities along with teaching about all areas of hospitality, tourism, senior care, and lodging management). She consults with and reviews travel and lodging businesses. Julie's joy is her daughters and grandchildren---she loves to read and travel with them, too.


Breanne Ellis holds degrees in Hospitality Management and a Masters in International Affairs and Global Enterprise. She has taught courses and seminars at the University of Utah, Drake University, UNLV, and Skagit Valley College. 



Policies
Minimum Enrollment: In order to better serve our customers, a minimum enrollment must be met. You will be notified 2 business days before the first class meeting if the class will be canceled due to low enrollment. Refunds for canceled classes will be issued promptly and no refund fee will be charged.

Refund Policy: Please notify us two (2) business days prior to the class start date for a refund. Refunds requested less than 2 days prior may be assessed a refund fee of $10. After class begins, you may request a refund in the form of a credit to your account. All account credits expire at fiscal year-end on June 30.

Visitor Parking is allowed in any general lot after 5pm.

During business hours visitors can park in visitor parking which is designated by green on the campus map.
