As a Program Director for a Recovery Center in Southern Idaho, I was able to serve people who struggled with Substance Use Disorder and/or Mental Illnesses. It was incredibly rewarding to work with people who were finding their own recovery paths and learning to live again. In Idaho, I served my community in a variety of volunteer positions – from Crisis Counseling to an Advisory Board for the City Council. My husband and I relocated to St George, Utah in 2018 and I currently work for the Area Agency on Aging, Five County AOG as the Media and Public Relations Specialist. I serve on DSU’s Dixie Serves Washington County Volunteer Advisory Council and love the beautiful area that I now call home. I am a mental health, suicide prevention, domestic violence, and recovery advocate. I believe aloha and gratitude is what life is all about and it would be my pleasure to have you in class as you allow me to provide a basic understanding of mental health issues in a safe and supportive learning environment
