Unity 2017 Conference

October 19th - 20th, 2017


Overview

Unity 2017 honors the champions who have worked to prevent HIV, STDs, and Viral Hepatitis in Indiana. Presenters will highlight current evidence-based and best practices for prevention and care. Unity will provide an opportunity for the foot-soldiers of HIV/STD/Viral Hepatitis organizations in Indiana to share local and regional successes.


Thursday, October 19th

Registration will begin at 12:00 pm on Thursday with the first session starting at 12:30 pm. There will be two plenary sessions and two rounds of breakouts. Topics will include:

  • Medical advances in HIV
  • Emerging trends in syphilis
  • Connecting youth to prevention
  • Combating antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea in Indiana
  • Transgender health care
  • Harm reduction strategies

Unity Banquet

This semi-formal banquet will honor the champions who have worked diligently to prevent HIV, STDs, and Viral Hepatitis throughout the years in Indiana. Please join us on Thursday at 6:00 pm for hors d'oeuvres followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. The banquet will be a great time to reconnect with individuals in the field and to build new relationships.

 


Friday, October 20th

Registration will open and a light breakfast will be served beginning at 7:15 am. Opening remarks will begin promptly at 8:00 am. Topics will include:

  • STDs among men who have sex with men
  • Viral Hepatitis
  • Marketing for prevention
  • HIV care coordination
  • Narcan training
  • Trauma informed care
  • PrEP

Lunch with Greg Louganis

Unity 2017 is excited to welcome Greg Louganis, Olympic Diver and LGBT Activist, as the luncheon keynote speaker on Friday. Mr. Louganis will be interviewed about his efforts for equality and HIV awareness. There will be ample time to ask questions.


Registration Fee

The registration fee is $30.00.

 

This fee includes dinner on Thursday evening, as well as a light breakfast and lunch on Friday.

 

If your agency receives funding from the Indiana State Department of Health, and you live over 50 miles from Indianapolis, you may be eligible to receive assistance for overnight accommodations for the evening of Thursday, October 19th. Additional details can be found on the registration page.
