In this 1st part of a 4 part series, we will define co-teaching based on the model described in Villa, Thousand and Nevin (2013). We will consider the benefits and rationales for co-teaching. You will learn about tools to facilitate communication and collaboration. This series is intended for general educators, special educators, paraeducators, and related service providers. Administrators are also encouraged to participate.
· Define what co-teaching is and what co-teaching is not;
· Consider benefits as well as legal and evidence-based rationales for co-teaching;
· Practice using tools for collaboration and communication.
