Tips for Rolling out a Core Vocabulary Initiative

Have you considered starting a core vocabulary initiative but don’t know where to begin? Or have you started one, but would like to enhance it? In this session, this enthusiastic presenter who began a core initiative in her district (ages 3-21) over 10 years ago, will share many of the tips and tricks they have learned along this journey of implementing core across the district. Information about their universal core approach will be shared including; how they got started, who to get on board, determining your low tech board set up, using an anchor set of symbols, “coring out” materials, sharing resources, adapting for individual students, tips for providing professional development, and so much more!

Learning Outcomes:
Participants will learn at least 5 tips to get a core vocabulary initiative started in their school/ district.
Participants will learn the first steps to roll out or enhance their core initiative.
Participants will learn at least 3 ways to adapt core communication for individual students.
