Rural communities face challenges when it comes to emergency planning and preparedness efforts.

Smaller workforces, limited resources, competing time demands and geographic distance results in a shortage of engaged individuals and a greater likelihood of becoming overwhelmed when resources are quickly consumed.

This workshop will help rural Nebraskans develop solutions to overcome these challenges.

Who is this program intended for? public health, healthcare, community leaders, emergency management, EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement, Community leaders, businesses, producers & growers

By the end of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of community wide emergency planning and preparedness efforts

  • Identify at least 3 challenges faced by rural communities, producers and growers as it pertains to emergency planning and preparedness efforts

  • Discuss and develop community-wide and regional resources to aid in emergency planning and preparedness efforts
