Target Audience: All Educators
This course will provide instruction on the basics of first aid. First aid is the immediate care that is given to someone with an illness or injury before a more advanced trainer arrives to take over. The course is divided into three parts: Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies and Environmental Emergencies. Medical emergencies include appropriate care for heart attacks, stroke, diabetes and seizure. Injury emergencies include care of breaks, sprains, bleeding and burns. Environmental emergencies include care for temperature related exposures, poisoning and animal bites and stings. Upon completion of the course, all members will receive a certification card from the American Heart Association.
