Matt Baud, NTDSE AAC Coordinator

Target Audience: All Educators working with students using AAC
Students with complex communication needs present unique challenges in the classroom. Selecting the appropriate communication tool is an important part of the battle but teaching a child as well as the communication partners how to use the tool effectively throughout the school day is just as important. In these interactive sessions, participants will learn how to use a balance of AAC implementation techniques including partner augmented input (PAI), prompting hierarchies, and language therapy facilitation techniques. Participants will have opportunities to practice the different strategies as well as begin planning how to bring this back to the classroom. Low tech to high tech systems will be available for hands-on practice however participants are encouraged to bring a speech-generating or communication board/book of their own.

Registration is free of charge for NTDSE staff (D807) and all members staff (Districts 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72, 73, 73.5 and 74).
Registration is $50 for the training for non-NTDSE and non-member district staff.
Payment may be made by cash, check or money order. Please make payable to Niles Township District for Special Education. Please mail payment to:
