CHAMPS: A Proactive & Positive Approach to Classroom Management

All teachers desire a classroom that is well organized and marked by positive interactions with students—a classroom that specifies clear behavioral expectations and motivates students to put forth their best efforts. This 7 session CHAMPS training approaches classroom management in a proactive and positive way. Written by nationally recognized behavior specialist Randy Sprick, the CHAMPS approach helps teachers establish and fine-tune their skills with behavior management in the classroom. (Discounted price for Montcalm County educators). 


Dates

February 1,8,15 and 22, March 1,8 and 15, 2018

If necessary, March 22 is a make-up date


Time

Dinner is from 4:00-4:30 pm for each session. Workshop runs from 4:30-6:30 pm.


Cost

$100 for Montcalm County School Staff

$150 for COMMIT school staff

$175 outside of COMMIT area

 

Cost includes Randy Sprick's book, light meals each session and 14 SCECHs.

Participants must attend all sessions to obtain SCECHs.


Audience

All teachers, K-12, general and special education; building principals, counselors, social workers.

Teachers participating in these 7 sessions will learn how to:

  • Structure their classrooms for success;
  • Create rules and consequences for rule violations;
  • Teach expectations to students;
  • Use data by observing students and make decisions about their management plan;
  • Interact positively with and motivate students; and
  • Correct misbehavior fluently.
