What is different about an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for a Multilingual/English learner? This workshop briefly reviews NYS regulations and guidance for developing an IEP for an ML/ELL student classified with a disability.? Participants will identify the essential information and documentation needed, and the special factors to consider when working with culturally and linguistically diverse students and families.
Participants will review the essential components of an Individualized Education Program (IEP), particularly the Present Levels of Performance (PLOP) and Student Needs Related to Special Factors.
Participants will identify and analyze data relevant to the students’ language and culture that impacts the student’s learning.
